@frank51 You can find the data on earth.nullschool.net The data is not daily but is reliable. Perhaps woke people at Windy don't want us to see it because it may confuse us on certain subjects?

earth.nullschool.net
Re: Historical data
Open earth.nullschool.net click on 'earth' bottom left, URL at top of browser will say 'current' click back arrow once and you will see date at top, replace date and time with date you want to go back to press enter at end of URL. Wind flow will show click video button to stop & start movement. Use mouse wheel to zoom in and out. click on the globe & you will see wind strength & direction & position. to change units click on unit. It uses the USA GFS model, that is also available on Windy. Good for checking on previous weather events like hurricanes. Has Sea Surface Temperatures & anomaly but they are not every day. Check it out, Cameron Beccario @cambecc wrote the app to extract the data from the GFS model, it is open source I think. It only goes back to about 2014 when GFS changed their data output. -
RE: Cyclone in Arabian sea
Track from ECMWF 9km model wildly different from GFS 22km model which is forecasting scenario for Salalah like Mekunu in May? check it out on Windy. Higher resolution means less real data per grid point so model can stray from reality?

Historical data from GFS using earth.nullschool.net
Click earth for menu, in Control click < to get off Now (current in URL), replace date and time in URL with previous date and time you want, enter changed URL.
Will only work till start of 2014 as data output from model was changed then.
