I have had the same feedback from many paraglider pilots: AROME would be awesome.

PG pilots have little interest in surface conditions, what they are looking at to check the conditions is the sounding forecast - that's why many users complained about the v42 update when the plugin sounding stop working for a few days before I had time to update the plugin to the new API.

AROME covers the Alps where thousands of people are flying on good day. Here in France meteo-parapente.com is popuplar because it uses the AROME model but the UI is way less friendly than windy.

Please switch to AROME 2.5 🙏.

You can try it by installing windy-plugin-sounding.

I'm making progress on the sounding plugin. I still have some work to do on the mobile UI and a few things here and there but I should be able to publish an ok version most probably on Friday - the sounding looks good for tomorrow and I'll go check if it's not a bug :)

Il me semble donc que arome2.5 serait mieux pour tout le monde?

The plugin now works better on mobile and tablets.

As a reminder plugins do not work on the installed mobile apps but you can use them by loading windy in a web browser on your mobile or tablet.

Visit https://www.windy.com/plugins/windy-plugin-sounding to load the plugin on a mobile device.

It's related to a windy.com change.

v4.1.13 was released to fix this, updating should fix any issues.

soaringmeteo.org has some open source code to compute the thermal speed. I'm not sure if all parameters are available in windy or if they can be added?

Maybe @Filip_K knows?

The PG community would for sure love to see this!

(I was discussing that last week with Simen Eide - a meteorologist. @Samygallego is an other talented meteorologist that might have some ideas)

My pluging (flyXC soundings) do the user selected model to compute the sounding data. As such I do not need to have a separate model switcher in the UI (on desktops).

It looks like mblue has been added in 51 but there does not seem to be a way to select that model

Is this coming or are there limitation preventing it to be added to the list (i.e. tiles not generated, ...)

@Pierre-MICHELOT-2 I don't thin t5k it's avaiable in the app and the current version of the app broke the plugin anyway.
Your best chance is to install the plugin (normally, not via URL) on a browser either on mobile or desktop

For the record, it's the second time windy breaks my plugin in a week :(
I don't like to complain because I know the team is working hard to offer the plugin framework but at least the first breakage could have been very easily avoided

The mobile app does not work but the web site works on both mobile and desktop.

It has always been a pain to debug the app, hopefully they can provide some guidance - I contacted them on slack

@PieroMa Unfortunately the windy team had no time today to approve the plugin and publish it :(

But you can use the URL to install the plugin - when you install plugins there is an option to "Load plugin directly from URL", you could paste the URL to the new version https://windy-plugins.com/726021/windy-plugin-fxc-soundings/4.2.1/plugin.min.js

Again the plugin broke because of unannounced updates in windy - I hope they can find a better way to work with plugin authors in the future.
