    • Earth Projection

I love Windy, except for the way the earth is projected. The earth is round, not rectangular. Could you not use the same projection as Google Earth? It is almost impossible to get a good picture of the weather patterns in the far northern and southern latitudes due to the extreme distortions of the surface areas. With all the many features, I am surprised that there are no options to this rather primitive way of rendering the globe.

    • RE: Earth Projection

Having just looked at the 3D projection, it doesn't seem to let me zoom in beyond a very large scale (roughly 3 cm to 1000 km on my Macbook screen), it seems to default back to the "flat" projection. Maybe I'm missing something else?

Thanks, great!. I thought I tried everything before writing in, 3D mode just didn't seem to define the projection. Now it's perfect.
