This is a great suggestion. I know it can bring valuable use to windy. This layer can basically use the entire atmospheric column and then imagine if all that air condenses, that would be how much rain it could fall down. This also can be used for determining if it's a tropical rainstorm or a more temperate/wintry storm.

RE: New Cam Not Added
@ZimSupport I am sorry to hear about your webcam not being added. I know I am not any staff or support team of windy, but do feel very bad for you. I did some coordinate looking and you had a webcam you wanted added to windy coming from the village of Checheche in Zimbabwe not far from the border of Mozambique, only 28km. I see other webcams in the area as well, but there is never too many webcams, in fact, having more is better. I am encouraged to hear about webcams coming from a very underdeveloped country. This just shows that the world is developing and that the world is becoming closer and that we can see and connect with these regions better. I hope that your camera get's put to windy soon and that you also add more in the future as well.

RE: Windy acquires majority stake in Meteoblue - What to expect?
@anthony10 I think you seem very interested in windy seeing a massive overhaul. I just received a new overlay today, Radar+, which includes satellite and radar all in one, this is one of the things you wanted, windy has it. The heatmaps were also added about a week ago. Also, your ideas are really ambitious and creative. It would likely take months if not years for Windy to receive more of the Meteoblue content, and also not all things would be on Windy anyways.
The only one thing I would like Windy to keep is the customized color scales for overlays, even if you may have to put it to premium in the future, I would like this feature to always remain and never removed. If the custom color scales were to be removed, windy would lose a lot of it's active users and things would go downhill and be challenging to maintain. Anyways, the future looks bright, though don't expect all of the changes you outlined to be coming in the next several weeks.

RE: No funciona la capa de acumulado de lluvia??
@virpz Don't regret it. Ever since I got premium over a year ago, and used it as a free member for several years almost daily, this has never happened to me before. I know there were minor and a few outages in between, but they all are rare. Maybe windy is overhauling the accumulation layers and instead of having an option for 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, 5 days, 10 days, it would be on each hour or three hours just like for all of the other layers.

RE: Snow Line (MASL)
That would be a great parameter to have. Even though Windy already has a lot, they still lag a little behind on others. A feels like temp, wet bulb globe temp, severe weather parameters like cape, cin, wind shear, vertical precip, reflectivity, and more, and snow line like you said. I also would like freezing rain, sleet, ice pellet accumulation parameters as well as snow ratios using the kuchera formula.

RE: New Format On PC Terrible
@PeterG-4, If you think windy website and the things appear too big, try to widen out the website using the Ctrl and scroll your mouse to 75% or 80% rather then 100%, this should be a big help to improving your windy experience. You have a great day.

RE: Climate Change and Heat Stress Impacts
@idefix37, I know that some parameters don't exist. I am sure we can calculate using multiple parameters to bring this layer to live. It will take some work to implement.

RE: Changing the weather radar reflectivity color palette
I would like to have this feature available in Windy for radar mode. It is a benefit that we can customize color palettes for overlays for Windy. Every other website doesn't have this option. I know that the radar is left out sadly. Windy, please add the overlay color palette option for Radar. I am totally with you in your proposal.

Climate Change and Heat Stress Impacts
We all know by now that Climate Change is making heatwaves and the level of heat stress worse then ever. There are more record breaking heatwaves in the last 20 years, which most of these records were in the last few years. The European Heatwaves of 2003, 2019, and 2022, The Siberian Heatwave in 2020, The Pacific Northwest and Canadian Heatwave of 2021, The deadly India heatwave of May 2022 and The lesser known but a very intense Antarctica Heatwave of March 2022 were all breaking all time records, some areas by more then several degrees above previous all time records. As the pacific is now entering the El Nino phase, likely a strong El Nino as we head toward this Summer and Fall and the next few years will yet bring more worse heatwaves and will likely get our planet at or above 1.5°C (2.7°F) temporally for the first time ever in just a matter of the next few years.
You all may know there is already a Wet Bulb Temperature layer, which it's the natural Wet Bulb Temperature that it would be the temperature of the thermometer that it's covered in a wet cloth. Because of the growing concern of heat stress that is worsening by climate change, you should consider adding the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), which is exposed to direct solar radiation and it is usually within a degree or two higher then the Regular Wet Bulb Temperature used by default. Any Wet Bulb value above 35°C (95°F) is considered fatal when exposed to it.
In addition to the WBGT, you should consider adding a Heat Index or Humidex layer that will show the feel like temperature as we feel as humans. You can also consider using the new revised Heat Index Formula "Extended Heat Index Formula (Lu and Romps 2022)" that was made since they studied and said that the NWS current Heat Index formula was underestimating extreme heatwaves such as the deadly Chicago heatwave of 1995. -
RE: Adding Hi Res ACCESS C Weather Model
It's not a bad idea. This model is very accurate and also if this model is to come out, the global ACCESS-G model should also be added as well.
-
ERA5 Reanalysis Data?
I think Windy should get historical reanalysis data for past weather forecasts using ERA5 (ECMWF Reanalysis v5), which has data that dates back to 1940. Not all 50+ overlays and data are required, at least temperature, winds, precipitation, and possibly a couple more overlays. This feature can be under a Windy Premium paywall since the ERA5 will cost a lot to purchase it's data and also it has 80+ years of extensive amounts of reanalysis weather data to look at.

RE: Suggestion : Wet Bulb Globe Temperature
This feature you requested was recently added to Windy last week.

RE: Addition of the ACCESS model
As of today, March 25th, 2022. ACCESS model has been added to windy and it's only the local model that was added, the global model wasn't added. Feel free to enjoy looking on the new model and it extends off 10 days.

RE: Wind Chill/Heat Index
I want that to be out. That would help so much for the upcoming possible polar vortex later this winter. Thank you for this post. Windy, can you please do it.
-
Past weather outlooks
I think that windy should need a time bar so you can go back in time and weather in the months past. It would make windy more popular and better than it is now. Hope you add this feature.

RE: Getting worse?
The forecasts are not the same. That can happen to all of it's models, even its best ones.

RE: There is an Bug Error with Temperatures between -70°C and -80°C (-94°F to -112°F)
It's all models doing that.

There is an Bug Error with Temperatures between -70°C and -80°C (-94°F to -112°F)
I saw an error with temperatures from -70°C to -80°C. I had seen it as long as I was on windy. It shows this on the map. It goes directly from -70°C to -80°C. Can you please fix this bug?
