@hooram95 said in Error: "Cannot get info.json from im server" and unable to select certain layers:

It sounds like a browser-specific issue rather than a data problem, especially since Edge works fine and satellite/radar layers load normally. Chrome updates or extensions sometimes break certain map layers, so disabling extensions or trying an incognito window might help. I’ve seen similar issues fixed after a Chrome update or by turning off hardware acceleration.

The solution was found? See below.....

@Brandon-Wright said in Error: "Cannot get info.json from im server" and unable to select certain layers:

@Suty Apologies for the delay - yes, I use a VPN (Cisco) and that seems to be the culprit.

    • RE: Wind direction arrow wrong (180°) in weather station widget.

I'm sorry if I get something wrong here, struggling to read this.

So the map shows the wind direction as where they are going
And the weather stations show the direction as the way they are coming from?

Are you wanting them both to show the same thing?

EDIT: Quick Google search and I see the normal is to have the arrow showing where the wind is going to. (This is confusing me, I may be saying the wrong thing)

ANOTHER EDIT: My symbols all show the same way....

@Suty said in Remove incorrect Weather Station Data:

@WeatherMan10 Hello, we can't handle this manually on our end, however, if you wait for a week, this data will be gone then.

I usually do that. But I thought I would ask

    • Remove incorrect Weather Station Data

      Hi

A sensor error that I have been trying to fix the last week that means the temperature sensor will read 21.4c. This has copied across onto windy and it is really hard to read the actual data (around 0c).

Is it possible to remove this data from client end?

      Thanks

That's what I mean. I don't think that ECMWF or ICON output a sunshine layer, with the units of Sunshine Hours

asking a question out of curiosity.... Where do you find it for specific points at the minute?

@Václav-Ráš said in Feature Request: Add "Sunshine Accumulation" Layer:

Currently, one has to check specific points individually,

But this has my support. there is already a layer for W/m2 which could be helpful. My only concern is that I don't think models output this layer, but I could be totally wrong. (@idefix37?)

      Hi,

The color scheme corresponds to the temperature. ECMWF and ALADIN are forcasting -19c while the others are -3c

    • RE: Alerts - New Snow (pick days)

      @idefix37

I think there is a miscommunication error.

I mean; that there should be a snow depth alert. I know that windy does not store data about snow, so if there was a snow depth alert then on Day 3, there would be that amount of snow on the ground hence triggering the Alert.

      I hope it makes sense.

      @idefix37

Maybe there should be a snow depth alert then? Since Windy does not store data then if 10cm of snow fell. then the snow depth should be 10cm on the Wednesday?

    • RE: Alerts - New Snow (pick days)

@afurley said in Alerts - New Snow (pick days):

@idefix37 I confess that I find this wording v confusing as well :"At least _cm of snow must fall in the previous 3 days"

If this is an alert (ie a warning of a future event), then why does it address snowfall in the previous 3 days?

I think this is about wording, rather than a functional issue. My understanding is that this a prediction of a future moment when there will have been x amount of snow in the previous 3 days? But how far in the future does this look? I would like to use this to plan ski trips ahead (eg is it worth buying a flight next weekend?) so it's not much good if it is telling me that today there has been 3 days of snow!

To be clear, definitely not complaining, just hoping to help the clarity. Thanks to the team for this excellent app

    • RE: new user: how are alerts working

      Hi @patrickdrd

Welcome to Windy! I see that you want to get alerts for Metamorphosis to know if the forecast has: Any snow between 20cm - 500cm, Rain 10mm-100mm, Temperature (-60)-60c and if the wind is between 3-12bft. The issue is that Windy treats these conditions as one, so for the alert to trigger, you would have to have all of the weather conditions on the forecast - which the chances are very low.

Instead, create 4 separator Alerts with each one having only one condition; Like

      • First Alert: New Snow 20cm-500cm

      • Second Alert: Rainfall 10mm-100mm

      • Third Alert: Temperature (-60)-60c

      • Fourth Alert: Wind 3-12bft

Hope this helps and let us know if it works.

(@idefix37 Might have a previous post with an explainer)

Windy shows Freezing rain through the Rain, Thunder layer and is shown by the " ! ". About Ice accumulation, someone else will have to answer, I am not too sure.

difference between a Wall cloud and a mothership

      Hi @bobergurba

'Mothership' is the non-meteorological word for the whole thunderstorm. For example, in the plains in the US, if a supercell forms, you can call it the Mothership.

The wall cloud is a part of the supercell that descends below the thunder that - if correct conditions - a tornado will form beneath coming down from the wall cloud

In this picture, the 'Mothership is the whole cloud and the wall cloud is labeled at the bottom.

      Hope it helps!

    • Isobars Startup Bug

Hi, noticed this bug a little while ago, but it does not happen every time I load into Windy

When loading into Windy, The UKV layer was the last one I had open so it loads it and the isobars. But the isobars are from ECMWF as when I flick onto ECMWF the lines do not change, but when clicking UKV again, it loads the correct UKV isobars.
