Right so my only recourse is to remove and get a refund for an app that has no utility for me.

OK, so in Settings if you select Use GPS, your positon should be correct

However I’ve checked the distance between the zoo and Eucalyptus hill. It’s not so important to explain a large difference of temperature.
But the choice of the weather model is more crucial.
At your location I note the predicted temperature is in local forecast panel
GFS 81°F
ECMWF 75°F
Meteoblue 68°F
NAM 67°F
HRRR 69°F

Compared with a nearby weather station, HRRR model seems to be the best for you location.
