    • ISOBARS

      Isobars.
It would be nice to have the possibility to choose diverent gabs between the isobars. Then I could adjust it to the weathercharts which I often use also. (They mostly use a gab of 4 or 5 millibars.)

Windy is a great site which I like to support!

    • False data

      Hello,I’m Ruud.
I’m sailing in the surroundings of the Greek Ionion Islands. The last days ( 12 and 13 of april 2023) I sailed between The cities Lefkada and Preveza.
These screenshots were made within 12 houres! The data were a bit ajusted just before. But nevertheless….. When I sailed there the 12th, I experienced 30-35 knots! And no, that were not the gusts, that was contantly the wind. The next day still around 28-30 knots.
Compare it with the data on the screenshots! The data were totaly false! And this is’t the first time! This way there is no point in planning a trip with the Windy site!

      Best regards,
      Ruud Wind

p.s. I tried to send an email for this experience, but could not find any.

    • Distance Isobars

      Re: Isobars

“It is that most pressure charts use 5 hPa distance.
If one is used to look at and read such charts it may be disturbing to look at the Windy isobars because it suggests much higher wind speeds. This is because of the isobars being more dense.
Of course it isn't really more wind because of the 2 hPa distance but it looks like.”

I fully agree on this! If you can always look at the same distance between the isobars (preferably 5 hPa), you are able to interpret the wind better. It would be a great help for me!!
Or maybe you could make them adjustable?!
