Hello - I just wanted to post some images for clarity on some conflicting NAM Resolutions. The image below shows the 3km NAM resolution for the Basic, Meteogram and Airgram displays.
The next image shows that when you click on "Compare" the title displays a 5km NAM resolution even though the data contained in them is identical.
In the lower right hand corner of the display NAM 5 km displays.
Are these all supposed to read 3km indicating that they are from the NAM Nested grid or are they really a 5km version or a combination?

Cloud Cover
Hi - This is pretty picky, but I was curious to know what the criteria was for the gray concentric circles indicating the cloud cover on the airgrams and meteograms and what it is specifically referencing. Is it a measure of opacity of the clouds? Is it a percent chance of cloudiness at that location and time etc...? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Snowfall Ratio
I was wondering if the snowfall amounts that are given in the tabular format forecasts at the bottom of the screen and on the maps themselves default to a 10:1 snow/liquid ratio or are they variable given the temperature profile of the atmosphere at any given location and point in time. Thanks

RE: Small Error With NAM Resolution
The NAM resolution does seem to be a bit conflicting as it displays as 3km under the Basic, Meteogram and Airgram locations. But it displays as 5km when you click to Compare forecasts and in the toolbar in the lower right corner of the page. As you show there is a 5km NAM from NCEP but also a very popular 3km Nested NAM.

RE: Which forecast is used for ECMWF?
Thanks very much for you your clear and prompt response. I appreciate it. I am glad I brought it up and that it will be fixed to eliminate any further possible confusion.

RE: Which forecast is used for ECMWF?
This is interesting because when you click on the clock, "about these data", in the lower right hand corner of the screen, there is mention of the deterministic 9km ECMWF model there. However, just beneath that it shows NAM 5km, ECMWF 13km (more on par with the EURO Ensemble) and GFS 22km. When displaying forecast, that shows 9km.
So I guess the question here is, is all the data from the HIRES 9km run, or is some of it from the Ensemble and if so which data?
